WEST PHILA SEQUOIA PATHFINDER CLUB
Enjoy backpacking? Biking? Canoeing? Caving? Camping? Want to be an active young Christian on an adventure with friends who love Jesus? Then join Pathfinders. Club members enjoy club meetings, camping, and service adventures designed to develop Christ-like citizens.
Pathfinders are a worldwide organization of young people sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, though young people from grades 5th through 12th of any religious persuasion, or none at all, are welcome and encouraged to join. It encourages mental, physical and spiritual growth. There are nearly 30,000 clubs worldwide in about 120 countries.
The name SEQUOIA was derived from one of the oldest tree. In fact the Sequoia tree has been around for over 2,000 years, meaning it has been around as far back as when Jesus walked on earth. So we at the West Church Sequoia Pathfinder Club try to live up to our name and live up to the principles of the worldwide Pathfinder Clubs.
We offer a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
. Camping & Survival skills
. Grade appropriate leadership skills
. Activities promoting community pride & involvement through outreach activities such as visiting the elderly and feeding the homeless
. Personal care and encouragement by a caring staff member! We offer at least 1 staff member to every 6 Pathfinders.
